Where did you first hear about the Sumatran Rhino?
It was only within the last few years that I learned about the Sumatran Rhino. The birth of one of the babies was mentioned on TV news, and I was captivated by the appearance of the baby Sumatran Rhino, so I began reading about them online ..
The Sumatran Rhino is the smallest species of rhino - some stand only 3 feet high at the shoulder! - but can reach 5 feet at the shoulder. The Sumatran Rhino is also covered with shaggy reddish hair.
There are less than 300 Sumatran Rhinos left in the world. Until recent successes at the Cincinnati Zoo, they were not successfully breeding in captivity.
